Unicaja Bank has indicated that it is reinforcing its support for the Andalusian business and entrepreneurial fabric through its sponsorship of the sixth edition of the Andalucía Emprende Awards, the provincial phase of which took place this Wednesday in Cádiz, with the winning companies being ‘Verjim Animation Studio’ and ‘Omnium Lab’.

As indicated in a note, the aim of these awards is to highlight the most innovative business initiatives with the greatest potential for growth and development in each province, in order to subsequently choose the best Andalusian company in 2019 in the regional phase of the competition.

Verjim Animation Studio’ is a company from Rota that provides services in international productions for advertising, film and television. They are experts in 2D digital animation cinema. For its part, ‘Omnium Lab’ is a company from Algeciras dedicated to the development of technological solutions, their own or third parties, with high scalability, as well as the implementation of projects related to the gaming sector.

The first company has been recognised in the ‘Creation’ category, which distinguishes recently established initiatives with a maximum trajectory of three years, and the second in the ‘Consolidation’ category, conceived for businesses between three and seven years old.

 

As a prize, the promoters of both firms have received a technological gadget, sponsored by the Minerva Programme, promoted by the Andalusian Regional Government and Vodafone, as well as ensuring their participation as finalists in the regional phase of the competition.

Unicaja Banco’s backing for these awards is part of the support that the financial institution gives to the business fabric and its interest in promoting entrepreneurship in Andalusia, as well as encouraging economic growth and job creation in its area of activity.

The award ceremony and presentation of these prizes, which took place at the CADE in Cádiz, was attended by Francisco Javier Venzalá, Unicaja Banco’s Cádiz-Bahía Area Director; Ana Mestre, the regional government’s delegate in Cádiz; Alberto Cremades, the regional government’s delegate for Employment, Training and Self-Employment in Cádiz; Miguel Andreu, the regional delegate for Education, Sport, Equality, Social Policies and Reconciliation, and Rosa Siles, Managing Director of Andalucía Emprende, among others.

A total of 93 business initiatives from Cádiz, which have the support and tutelage of the Andalusian Entrepreneurship Centres (CADE) in the province, have submitted their candidacy for the sixth edition of these awards, which are also a unique opportunity to establish contacts and create synergies between projects, organisations and institutions linked to the world of business and innovation.

The Andalucía Emprende Awards, promoted by the Ministry of Employment, Training and Self-Employment of the Andalusian Regional Government through the Andalucía Emprende Foundation, are currently facing their provincial phase, from which a total of 16 companies will be chosen (two for each province in each category), which will compete in the regional phase of the competition to win the recognition of the best Andalusian company 2019.

In the regional phase, the prize consists of an international stay and a business agenda, coordinated by Extenda-Andalusian Foreign Promotion Agency and Unicaja Banco in a destination that represents a potential target market for their business or that hosts benchmark companies in their sector of activity.
